Talkin' About My Generation

I LOVE infographics. An infographic communicates important statistical information in a visually appealing way for people with decreasing attention spans (which is anyone who grew up on television and uses social media). Here's a great one about my generation, 18-29 year-olds.

  1. I read this and a part of me smiled. Educated, tech-savy, socially conscious to a degree. Then I see the small part in the middle...the part that says we unlike any generation before us are completely dissatisfied and even without "religion." For we, the millennial generation, there is still hope, but what scares me most about this is what the chart can't tell us...the long term affects of a society that has completely disengaged from God, be that through church (which I sympathize with) or through whatever medium one might find Him. While history might be able to predict it for us, the responsibility level only increases for believers. That we, who follow Jesus, might rise up in this generation and be a breath of fresh air to our peers. Sharing the love, serving the poor, and passionately following after God.

Thanks for sharing this Joe...it reinforces why I am a minister to young adults and it's a great reminder of all the good, a reality check with the bad, and a charge to continue on.
