- I ask students who are interested to commit for an entire semester. Thirteen of our students literally "signed on" for the fall. This ensures that the same group will be gathering consistently and that the breakfast prepared won't go to waste.
- We meet every Tuesday at the building at 7 AM for a time of prayer followed by breakfast.
- Members of our congregation sign up to cook or bring breakfast for our students.
Something I did sporadically last year, but hope to do more regularly this year, is begin our prayer time with words inspired by Scripture or a prayer from someone within Christian history. Yesterday, our prayer began with words adapted from Psalm 62:
God, for You alone we wait.
From You comes our salvation.
In You our hope is found.
You and You alone, God, are our Rock and our Salvation.
You are our Fortress--we will not be shaken.
On You rests our salvation and our glory.
Our Mighty Rock is You, God.
Our Refuge is You, God.
We will trust in You at all times.
We will pour out our hearts before You.
For our Refuge is You.
